“Somewhere” is a foldable coffee table made by rational and natural structure, as well as, its every single detail was created by refinement craftsman hand by hand. The purpose of this furniture is getting back to basics of function as a furniture, at the same time a message to the standard making process “mass production”. All design elements have intention to support to each other naturally against loads. And every process of production has been made carefully by Japanese craftsmanship without any huge machines and facilities for mass production. “Somewhere” is more than just coffee table, elegant concept and structure allows owners to use various scene regardless of interior or exterior.

WHY / context
We need to know that the mass production uses limited natural resources generously in vain for cost reduction. This project had been started as a message to achieve more sound society in the process from the production through consumer, at the same time, for getting back to basics of function as a furniture.
HOW / application
Collapsible legs has intention to support to each other naturally against loads. This structure, in result, brings natural, rational, but elegant shapes. Further more, all components are easy to re-assemble for users maintenance or replacement. Materials except stainless steel are made of natural materials, such as wood, linoleum, and leather.
Every single detail of “Somewhere” has been sophisticated by Japanese craftsman with deep researching chemistry of wood in the bending process. Whole making process have been made by simple and unique techniques which is required craftsmanship, not but depends on any huge machines or facilities.
Lightweight, 6mm thickness table top can be used not only as put on its collapsible legs but as a serving tray on the dining table. Owner will perceive instantly the elegant texture from that every single details has an intention of both craftsmanship and design.
WHAT / implementation
